Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is the primary temple Swaminarayan constructed. It was inbuilt Ahmedabad in 1822, and presents pictures of Nara Narayana, who occupies the principal seat of the temple, and types of Arjuna and Krishna on the central altar. The left altar has murtis of Radha Krishna. The land for development of the temple was donated by the British Imperial Authorities. The duty of setting up it was entrusted by Swaminarayan to Ananandand Swami. The temple is constructed as per scriptural norms with intricate carving in Burma teak and sculptural artwork depicting deities' episodes, auspicious symbols and spiritual icons representing axiomatic faith and Indian tradition. The temple is believed to be a helpful cultural heritage within the socio-religious historical past of Gujarat and India.
